The SAGmonkey Foundation: a 501 (c) (3) non-profit dedicated to serving the most at risk youth between 10 and 18 years of age teaching healthy nutrition education and food preparation techniques paired with bicycle mechanics and cycling skills as an inside-out well being sport and community connection.

While teaching these hands on life skills we will also be cultivating “Great-Full” living by tapping into the hearts and minds of others with the power of gratitude. The fact is that the art of living with gratitude is not something that comes naturally to most people. We work intentionally to increase the intensity, duration and frequency of positive grateful feelings to bring about abundant living.

We will accomplish these goals by engaging quality instructors for the education component and the leadership in mentoring participants. We will be utilizing our gear and equipment – primarily our mobile kitchen to connect catering companies and restaurants to organizations that distribute food to the homeless and those in need.

We will help educate the community about the prevalence of food insecurity and teach the importance of nutrition, food handling skills and healthy meal preparation.

A strong focus  will be placed on youth training, most especially at risk youth, in food preparation, food handling and catering skills so they may build their marketable skills and prepare them for  gainful employment.

We will also  work with youth and adults to promote the personal, social and environmental benefits of cycling. The SAGmonkey Foundation will function as a bicycle recycling center and educational work space in a diverse and non-threatening atmosphere. Our goal is to empower students to become fully functional, self-sufficient and confident working with bicycles.

We will create  connection through access to quality affordable bicycles, educational “do-it-yourself” bicycle repair, and opportunities to engage with the community on two wheels.

Through our work we will  provide contributions, funding and support in an effort to support the work and purpose of The SAGmonkey Foundation.

We hope you’ll join with us in moving this venture forward.
